Storm Ahead, Skipper — Reg Payne

Reg Payne was flight crew in Lancaster bombers during World War Two.

His paintings are direct from memory of raids he was on, backed up by his log book and a detailed diary he kept.

Limited edition prints will be available, signed by veterans of WWII bombing raids.

I had the privilege of a private showing of these prints, which are as yet not on sale.

How many of his paintings there are, is not known, as he gave them away and he has lost track of where they went.

Today, I uncovered a new painting, which was not previously known.

I have suggested a large format book of his paintings, with facing page, detailed account of the raid taken from his log and diary. With the possibility of an addendum at the back, contemporary accounts from the time.

Later in the year, there will be an exhibition of his work, date and location not yet finalised.
