Now, what I’m about to tell you might sound crazy, but if you take 2–3 minutes of your time, you’ll quickly realize that what I’m saying isn’t crazy at all.

In fact, with all the noise out there, you know how hard it is to get your message out.

How “Crazy People” Can Help 10x Your Blogging Results

Step 1 to 10x Your Blogging Results = LISTEN

Perhaps United goes a bit too far, but at least they’re listening to the fears of their customers.

You might think that listening to your customers sounds simple and perhaps obvious. However, businesses that stop trying to GET attention and start GIVING attention are typically the businesses that win.

Consider asking questions and paying attention to your audience. Listen to what your customers need first, then help them solve their problem.

How? Perhaps send out a fun survey (maybe even include an incentive for participating).

Here’s a crazy suggestion, just pick up the phone, ask questions, and Listen!

Step 2 = GIVE ACCESS

Again, this ad obviously goes too far. But it certainly gets right to the point by giving access and ‘pulling back the curtain.”

The key to giving access is to enable your audience to improve their immediate circumstances. Once you’ve listened to your audience, step 1, and know what your audience wants, give it to them.

For most businesses, you could simply facilitate and enable them to get what they want or solve a problem they have.

If they want a scary movie that will ‘mess’ them up for life, give it to them.

If they want a financial planner they can trust, start by providing valuable information they can use to plan for retirement for free.

Step 3 = Use your Blog to BE A GUIDE for your Audience

This is not a smart time to be sexy anyway.
With so many diseases around.
Be safe instead of Sexy.

extremely humble opinion.

So where are we now with your new blogging process? You’ve listened to the wants, needs, and goals of your audience. You’ve given them access to improve their circumstances or solve a problem. Now be their guide and nurture them to continuous results.

The ad above from Volvo is meant to be funny, but it also offers guidance.

The best guides are present and support their audience through their process and are constantly aware of where their prospects/customers are. For business owners, this means sending the right message, at the right time, to the right person.

For example, if a prospect is actively searching for your solution and ready to buy, I wouldn’t recommend sending them a white paper about your business. Instead, consider offering a demo or free consultation.

Step 4 = KEEP IT SIMPLE

When was the last time you read a blog, or anything for that matter, BEFORE scanning it? People scan blogs before deciding whether to read them or not.

That’s why we suggest keeping your blogs simple, easy-to-understand, and most importantly, clear! Clarity alone can 10x your blogging results!

We recommend that each of your blogs quickly says 3 things:

1st = Clearly state what it is — what they’re about to consume.

2nd = Clearly let your audience know what’s in it for them — the desired outcome.

3rd = Give clear next steps on what to do next — a call-to-action to get the desired outcome.

You can also help yourself by formatting your blogs so they are scannable. (Hint: See how this blog breaks up the text with images and subheadings? Hopefully, this helped make our blog more scannable for you ☺)

Step 5 = HAVE FUN!

-Yes, fake, and probably inappropriate, but honestly, did you at least chuckle?

Guess what? Your audience likes to have fun. And if you offer engaging and fun blogs that your audience enjoys, they’ll come back for more fun!

Believe it or not, it’s possible to be engaging and have fun AND be professional at the same time. (Granted, the Jaguar ad is certainly NOT professional…)

Every industry can use fun and engaging things like quizzes, personality tests, interactive guides, recipe generators, etc. It’s amazing how effective a simple quiz can be.
