Today we talk with Amber Anderson founder of Black Is Gold.

Entrepreneurs are people that jump off a cliff and builds a plane on the way down. Black is Gold creates value for all of us to learn from. As an entrepreneur or an aspiring entrepreneur (same thing) need to understand that you need to grind to the fullest. Don’t only have one goal and don’t lay back at the minimum level.

“ Once you reach your goal it automatically becomes the minimum achievement because there is much more to reach”
“A lot of youth in Chicago are trying to be entrepreneurs but are lacking resources”
Especially as an entrepreneur, you may very well understand the struggle of how it is to start a business — especially with a lack of resources. One thing we all need to note is that once we get up there and you feel loved by the people that surround you, remember to give back just like Amber has done for these young ladies with Black is Gold!

The Black is Gold Organization is a peer mentoring group for African-American teenage girls in the Chicagoland area. Our purpose is to help develop young African American women through a multitude of outlets, which include, community outreach, building sisterhood, hosting educational girl talks and workshops that help prepare young women for the workforce, college readiness, & empower young women. Throughout the city of Chicago and nationally, there are several mentoring groups and programs that are created for teenage girls, but not many are founded and executed by teenagers.
