“Be open to criticism but don’t be affected by it. Criticism is meant to help you be a better person. Learn from it.” — Unknown

Nobody likes to be judged; nobody wants to be at fault, nobody wants to get criticised, though everybody faces it at some point in time.

Criticism is something negative which no-one wants to hear, but it also has a bright side. Criticism somehow helps in the growth of an individual. Without facing criticism, we won’t be able to know what other’s perception is for you, how much capability you have to overcome these critics.

When people criticise you, you start growing, and you start improving yourself. The negatives or criticism, which people talk about you, helps to comprehend your weaknesses, and upgrade them. It helps you to identify your faults and overcome them using different methods or strategies. The more you face criticism, the more you grow.

Many a time, a situation comes when you achieve what you wanted or expected from yourself, you become satisfied with yourself. Or, there may occur a state when you tried to make something, but you didn’t do it due to lack of motivation, or maybe you procrastinated. This is the scenario when critics play a vital role in your growth. These criticism acts as a challenge for you, to extend your limits, to explore your capabilities and ultimately give your best.

Criticism opens you to new ideas, new perspectives. You explore new opportunities, you consider taking challenges, and develop new problem-solving skills, you practice a new option or take action other’s opinion. Criticism helps you to take into consideration all those action plans which you overlooked once, or denied to comply with.

At last:

  • Never take it personally if someone does criticize your work.
  • There will be some occasions when you feel that criticism is personal, I recommend you to take it positively.
  • People are fallible, and it’s essential to remember, we do not get offended by someone’s criticism.
  • Intelligent people are those who take criticism positively & use them to their advantage.
