When you think of ways to promote your floral brand on social media, names like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest are usually the first that come to mind. Snapchat on the other hand is related back to kids and for the most part, not a great way to showcase the industry.

Well things over at Snapchat have changed recently and it’s looking like it could be your next move to generate more than just brand awareness and engagement.

Snapchat has recently introduced a few new features that can bring in more sales to your website, have users tap on a map to see your products and location, and bring up your reviews and give directions directly to you.

SnapMaps

Snapchat introduced this feature primarily so you can see where your friends are and where the most snaps are happening around you. It does this by featuring a Bitmoji character that would be you or your friends but also, colorizing spots on a map where the most snaps are taking place. This pulls users into those areas to tap and see more.

A few great ways to use this in the floral industry is to offer a discount or upgrade to customers who snap their arrangement in your shop and send it to a friend or add to their stories.

You can also have the drivers or designers snap pictures of every arrangement they do in the shop from your account and add those to your stories.

The more snaps in a single area will add more color to the SnapMap and draw users to that area to see what’s going on. It’s a great way to get your brand, products, and your staff’s creativity out for everyone to see.

Links On Snaps

They’ve also added the ability to add links to snaps that are taken by your account. Let’s say you have a designer special going on, focusing are a few specific designs, or just need to move some product.

You can add a link to your website that send users directly to that items or items and makes it easy for them to purchase or find out more information.

If you have any wine and design classes or special events coming up in the near future you can lead users directly to a registration page as well. Need to get some more emails for your list? Just send curious snapchatters to a discount offer page where they can add their email information to collect the offer.

This is also fantastic to use with SnapMaps as users are drawn to it in the first place and directly to your website links on the snaps.

Context Cards

Context cards appear when someone taps the arrow at the bottom of your snaps. You get this to appear by sliding over to the “location filter” that says your business name and location on it. After they tap the arrow, they get more information on your brand generated by sites like Foursquare, Tripadvisor, Uber, and the maps app.

For these to work in your advantage, you need to make sure all your reviews are up to date and generating new positive one that take precedent and show closer to the top. You also want to make sure all your location data is correct on those sites too.

You can create a Foursquare Business account and manage special discounts and reviews and also a Tripadvisor Business account to do the same.

With millennials being a prime target for your present and future customer base, it makes sense to start utilizing some of the apps they open most frequently.

It all seems like a lot to take in but with a little practice, your floral brand can have it’s own piece of real estate right in the middle of everyone’s SnapMap.
