Jimi Hendrix did it with his guitar.

Picasso did it with painting, drawing, and sculpture.

Steve Jobs did it with computers.

Michael Jordan did it with gravity and distance.

Life is a series of rebellious acts.

The average life consists of everyday acts of defiance:

  • Waking up defies continuing to sleep,
  • Making something delicious defies cooking something that tastes bland, etc.

A series of small defiant acts make up “doing business” or “living.”

A series of consistent, larger defiant acts result in “innovation.”

Great artists are rebellious.

Great family members are rebellious.

Great entrepreneurs are rebellious.

Great leaders are rebellious.

How defiant, and how often one “rebels” against the norm (or complacency) determines whether your life will be average, or whether you’ll be seen as one of those troublemakers who don’t fit in, or color within the lines.

The kind of rebel who just might possibly change the world.
