For many of us who own an e-commerce site, it can be challenging to get visitors to our sites. These challenges can be overcome by a few tested methods. This article will define four marketing strategies to get visitors to your site and also four tested and true methods for branding your site.

These four marketing strategies are creating an appealing design and layout, make sure it is full speed ahead, have a nice balance of products, and treat the product page as a sales pitch. The branding methods are changing the brand identity to reflect any growth, inspire the new identity from the original, build a social media following, and make payment processing easier. Each will be considered below.

Creating an Appealing Design and Layout

This is something that makes sense. If you think about it a brick-and-mortar store that looks sloppy would not get any visitors to the store. The same thing is true for a website. An e-commerce store should have organized pages. These pages should reflect the company as a whole. Visitors should be in a position to easily navigate the site. Take an example of Oroton’s women’s bags’ product page and get inspired for the design, description and overall layout that they offer. There should be nothing extra hanging around that does not have to be there.

Make Sure it is Full Speed Ahead

Today’s customers have very little patience. This is true for all clients. If there is any lag in the pages of your e-commerce site, this could cost you hundreds of millions of dollars in sales per year. This is obviously for a site that does approximately $100 thousand in sales per day. The average time consumers spend on wanting the page to flip when the link is clicked is just a few seconds. So, even you lag by just one second there could be millions lost in potential sales.

Balancing the Number of Products

Visitors not only want to navigate the site with ease and speed. But they also want to see a nice selection of products. There cannot be too numerous products either, though. This could mean that the search engine on your site will be confusing for the customer and the client will not be able to find what he or she is looking for. Every e-commerce site should have a search engine. The search engine should not be confusing to the customer. The search engine should just navigate and search through your site. Otherwise, the search engine might bring up a competitor that is having a sale on the item the visitor is looking for.

Treat Your Product Page Like a Sales Pitch

This is important because the client will want to know all about the product without having to search for it. There should be a meta of description right beneath the product picture. There should be videos and more than one angle of the picture. The client should have a complete visual of the product. Then there should also be reviews on the product right from your site. This will help the consumer make an informed decision on buying that specific product.

Changing the Brand Identity to Reflect Growth

This is to say that you should give your brand a different look when you have grown a little. If your company has been around for a decade or two and you have grown from a fledgling to a competitor of the Amazon then you should change the brand identity a little. The brand identity is usually the look of the trademark. So, this would be the logo. Consumers associate a new logo with a rebirth of a brand. This also helps if there has been a recent scandal for your site.

Taking Inspiration From the Original Logo Design

This is to say that you should use part of the original logo in with the original logo. You do not want to confuse your clients who are already loyal to your brand. They might not remain steadfast with this new logo that does not resemble the original logo. The company might need to reorganize and grow all over again after rebranding. This is not the purpose of creating a new logo so you will have to grow your company all over again. You want to retain loyal customers and gain new ones.

Building a Social Media Following

This is important. This was more important today than it was just five years ago. There is a saying that says if it does not happen on shared media it does not happen at all. So, you will want to make some social media channels for customers of your site to Tweet and talk about on Facebook. This is so you will be in a position to build that list of followers. You can notify followers and fans of any sales or promotions you are running on your site. Social media channels help to sell women’s bags on days like Cyber Monday.

Making Your Payment Process Easy

To make the payment process easy will help with these on the go consumers of today. The payment process should mean they can check out as a guest if they want without making an account. You also might want to reward loyal customers. You can do this by offering loyal clients a free shipping program or a discount program. This would be something akin to the Amazon Prime method. They offer their loyal clients two-day free shipping with the Prime membership. These types of programs attract and retain customers.
