The reason some big brands have a loyal following and others don’t

If you have been on social media for a good time you might have seen those accounts that have a big following, yet when they post they get little to no engagement.

If you are like me then this may have caught your eye as soon as you saw it. If it did then you may know exactly why this happens.

Those brands don’t care for their customers, they simply are looking to shove their product down your throat and that’s it. If you don’t believe me then go and check it out for yourself.

The biggest red flags showing these types of brands are:

A big gap between the likes/comments and following.

This generally means that they are paying for their followers or that they are doing the follow for follow “technique”

You can easily see how they have 4000 followers and that they are following 8000.

When you go to some posts you can see that even though the brand has 4000 followers all of the posts have 100 likes, tops.

They have comments but they never respond to anything.

This is something that really pisses me off.

Are you going to tell me that responding to at least 3 comments is impossible? Give me a break. Doing it doesn’t even take 5 minutes.

All brands need people that are interested in their product/service and if they don’t respond to some questions from time to time, how are they going to get people to really like their stuff?

Engagement is key in social media, never forget that!

All of their posts are to sell you something

This one can really go both ways since some brands like Tom Ford only sell and show their products in their posts while keeping other types of posts to a bare minimum. This is something that they can get away with since they have a “cult” following and have been killing it for years.

Now, when a brand with little to no real followers tries to do the same it simply looks like they are trying really hard to sell you their product, which is not an attractive look.

Now that you know how to spot these “fake” brands, how do make yours different from this?

It’s quite simple if you think about it.

Engage MORE.

Yeah, I know that I always talk about it, but it’s the truth.

People like when brands care for them and interact as much as possible!

That is why the brands that take the time to respond to several comments have some of the best results.

When you engage with your followers you are giving them more of an excuse to share your brand because they like what you do and how you treat them.

Think of it as a restaurant, if you go and the waiters don’t pay any attention to you, when the food gets there you won’t be happy, right? (If you are like me then you probably will left before that even happened haha)

Interact even if you have little to no followers. It will always be better to have 5 customers that are like friends than 100 that don’t give a f*ck about your brand.

A word of advice, don’t buy followers or do that “strategy” of follow for follow since it brings empty followers aboard which is not what you want.

It takes time to organically grow an account and its ok! Take you time and do it the right way.

Your credibility will always be on the line when doing things on social media so why throw it away?

Much love to every single one of you!
