We’re All Viral Content

Potentially.

Everything can and will be viral content for someone, somewhere. But don’t worry — it won’t ever be about you.

Logan Paul was not a name I needed to know. But as my Twitter feed filled up with information about this feckless blonde with marketable ADHD, I had a quick peek.

Weeks later, the guy releases a fucking professionally made video, speaking both with people who work for suicide charities or have tried to commit suicide themselves. All this while slowly washing his hands and staring dramatically into the distance, oh — and handing over a million dollars to suicide prevention. Can anyone — anyone — swallow this bullshit without gagging?

Apparently, they can.

The lesson here is that posting tasteless videos will make you richer, more famous and more notorious than you’d ever be if you were just, you know, a thinker. PR wins all-round.

Congratulations, Logan Paul. You’ve set the bar for all your fans. In the future, when half of my torso might be on the left train-track and another up on someone’s roof because I-

  1. Slipped
  2. Couldn’t take it anymore
  3. Got murdered by my foes (most likely)

I can RIP knowing that some sugared-up teen captured it on video and made an Oscar-award-failing video apologizing for offending my dignity. They’ll probably also donate more money than I’ll ever have in my wallet to a charity that deals with whatever I perished from.

But most of all, they’ll get what they wanted, ten-fold — Attention.
