AWS has been my bread and butter, my safe place — if you could call it that.

AWS dominates the cloud space, and I for one can back that up. I’ve been in tech for more years than I could care to admit and worked in countless places, all of which you guessed it, used AWS.

Of course, I’d hear whisperings or the odd mention of something other happening in Azure or Google Cloud that would pique my interest. I might come across some LinkedIn posts about a project built out in GCP that would inspire me to start learning, but it never materialized as a good use of my time. I’d play the 80/20 card and move on.

My stripes were hard-earned in AWS. There was a lot of button pushing, breaking and rebuilding things, and endless dives into the rat's nest of AWS documentation. To put it bluntly — good old trial and error. I learned what I needed to know when the need arose and picked up the rest along the way.
