What do you want? I have noticed something very interesting, in particular with women, over the course of the year in exploration of this topic. Often, when asked “What do you want?”, women typically answer with all the things to survive or to fix something in their lives — or others. Consider New Year’s resolutions as a classic example. Some of the most popular topics are losing weight, making more money, improving health, make a big lifestyle or life change.

Women are so skilled at providing a sense of safety, security, and wellness for others and themselves. Part of this has to do with the innate ability to bring something into the world through their body, To birth something — no matter if it is a child, a job, a new home, a lifestyle, etc. This requires the skill and programming to ensure someone or something can be sustained. This may be very personal for yourself, or for others, like your job, partner, lovers, pets, neighborhood etc.

It is an incredible ability to create in a way that ensures something or someone survives. Now, what happens when you want to create outside this? When you start to consider your heart’s desire, what do you want? What do you really want, and what happens when you dream outside surviving?

You could spend your entire life recreating different versions of safety — and many people do. Yet, it takes that safety to create something else. Over the last three months, I have been working with students in the Women’s Healing Salon as they learn tools to create safety for themselves as a woman. Once you have safety, you can begin to create something new for yourself from a different aspect of life.

Consider desire on a spectrum. Perhaps, safety is one aspect. Yet, there is so much more to desire and experience. There is the emotional, the physical, the spiritual, love in all its expressions, styles of communication, seeing something, experiencing something new, knowing something, to name a few.

The programming in women to care take and ensure survival is important. Yet, there is so much to experience in life. So consider, what do you really want?

It might seem impossible. How can you get from point A to point B. You may look at your family, friends, and into the world and not see that step reflected. Yet, your step is yours and unique to you.

In life, I’ve noticed for myself and seen in others, that everything has a tendency to fall into place when you are focused on what you want, pursue it, choose it, and dare to really be in it. This level of commitment fuels the things you want.

When I first took a psychic class, I had no clue how I was going to pay for it. I found the class if by magic — this was before cell phones and while we had yellow pages and maps. I had dreamed it up. As I continued to show up, it all somehow worked out. I found I was always able to find a way as I was committed to continuing to take classes. This has shown up in many different ways, including a trip to Paris this spring.

Creating things to be safe can actually be really easy. Things like finding a new job, a new place to live, more money, can be really easy if you let it. What is often more challenging is wanting something more and then owning a step toward it.

So, what are your dreams? For the next week, month, six months, a year, a few years, in your life?

This July, I will be teaching the Women’s Healing Salon. Enrollment is now open, and you can find more information here. This is an opportunity to be in community with other women as you explore, redefine, reveal, express, find safety, and grow as a woman.
