We have rough times ahead.

Things are going to get more complicated and even life-threatening for us. But you can ready yourself to reduce the danger and hardships.

It’s going to be hotter

El Niño is coming. The ocean is hotter than it has ever been. Weather patterns are disrupted, too. And those are just two reasons all humans are in trouble, autistic or not.

How this affects autistic people

Climate disruption will destabilize our food supply and our ability to stay healthy and regulated.

That will be hard as we often have samefoods that we rely on to remain consistent in taste and texture. But we may also seek out stimulation with new flavors. Unfortunately, future challenges will adversely affect crops and food availability.

Also, autistic people are hypo and hyper-sensitive to various stimuli. Some of us don’t feel the cold, while others suffer greatly from the heat. And it’s going to be quite hot for a lot of us.

Just as bad, medications may be in short supply. We’ve already seen that happen with ADHD meds and antibiotics.

The problem isn’t going to go away
