Quite simply, potential customers are comparing your business to the competition. If your ratings and reviews are great, customers who are searching will check you out. If they are dreadful, they will keep looking.

Google reviews improve local search ranking, increase brand trust, improve your online exposure, and bring you more customers.

Customers want to see that people like you! If you maintain 4.5 STAR rating that they are likely to develop a good relationship with you. Don’t worry if you get a few negative reviews. Most people believe a few negative reviews are to be expected. What they care about is that your overall score is positive.

What if you already have a FIVE STAR rating? That might not be enough. Keep in mind that if only one person gave you that review five years ago, a potential customer may skip to the next business with more reviews. Receiving new Google reviews each month tells a consumer that you are currently doing business on a regular basis.

So, what can you do to inspire your customers to give you the FIVE STAR Google review that you need?

#1. Ask for a review while you are working with them.
There are usually several opportunities during the customer experience for you to ask for a 5 STAR REVIEW. You could have this conversation after a customer has written a contract, after the completion of a fun design appointment, or while walking through a completed job with their project manager. Once you have asked for a review, be sure and follow up with an email and a link to your company’s Google review page online.

#2. Ask for a Google Review at Closing.
Customer satisfaction is likely to be the highest on Closing Day. It makes sense to ask for a Google Review when people are happy! Ask your closing attorney to add a Google Review Ask to their buyer checklist as a part of the closing process. Create a Thank You card or handout with your Google review link for your customers to take home in case they are pressed for time.

#3. Shout out on Social Media.
Using social media to ask for reviews is a great approach. If your business has a solid presence on social media, create a fun post asking your customers to review your business. Use graphics and interesting photos to add punch to your request.

“Did you enjoy working with us… leave a review!”

“How did we do? Let us know by leaving a review!”

“Feedback Friday. We’d love to hear what you have to say! Leave a review at the link below.”

#4 — Use Media Management Software to ask for you.
If you are serious about increasing your customer feedback, choose a review management software like Podium, GatherUp, or Swell. These apps make it easy to maintain customer relationships. While each company has different features, they all provide efficient ways to collect reviews using methods like automated review invites, texting features, and personalized email templates.

Final Thoughts
Collecting reviews is important to your business. By the time a prospective customer talks to sales about a remodel or new home, they are likely to have already formed an opinion from what they’ve read about you online. Be proactive. Make sure when they look you up, they’ll read something positive about you. Have a plan in place to solicit FIVE STAR Google Reviews!
