The ARTIC Foundation recently conducted an AMA with Decentralized Club on their telegram channel on the 9th of June, 2022 at 8:00 UTC. The session went very well, and the questions were deep and meaningful, which enlightened community members about what’s going on with the ARTIC Foundation. This is a recap of the Q&A session (some parts edited for clarity), which includes all the necessary details of that AMA. Make sure to check it out!
Part 1: Introduction
DC Admin (May): Hello, 안녕하세요, नमस्ते, สวัสดี, Selamat! My name is May and I’ll be hosting this AMA with the ARTIC Foundation.
ARTIC is a blockchain-based art gallery platform that empowers its own NFT ecosystem by assetizing art masterpieces. The application of the blockchain serves as a core point to foster a new way of perceiving artwork. ARTIC provides tangible and intangible services that allow the exhibition of domestic and foreign works of art and further activates exchanges with artists around the globe.

Ye Seul Park: Hello everybody! Thank you for your warm welcome, May. It is great to be here with you!
DC Admin (May): Can you please introduce yourself to our community and tell us your role at ARTIC?
Ye Seul Park: Of course! My name is Ye Seul Park and I am the Head of Strategic Planning for our lovely ARTIC Foundation team.
DC Admin (May): A beautiful role for a beautiful guest! We will also have a beautiful session, I can tell! We will now take the introduction questions!
Can you tell us about the ARTIC Foundation and the inspiration that got it started?
Ye Seul Park: For years our team has been working with artists and galleries around the world. As the art industry has continued to grow, demand and supply for art have expanded every year. To keep up with the market’s constant growth and to increase efficiency, we decided to create a platform that thousands of users can use without our direct intervention.
The ARTIC Foundation is designed to be an NFT asset-based art gallery platform that utilizes blockchain technology. We hope that it will lead users to reconsider their perception of what art is. It will provide both tangible and intangible services that will lead to an active exchange of ideas between artists around the world. Also, we want our customers to be able to purchase art as easily as possible without having to travel to a specific country to visit galleries.
DC Admin (May): A perfect introduction!
What innovative solutions is the ARTIC Foundation bringing to topple its competitors who offer similar services in the art and NFT sectors?
Ye Seul Park: NFT marketplaces gained popularity just a couple of years ago, and the industry has had to constantly make an effort to keep up with these new innovations and technological advances. The ARTIC Foundation has two innovative solutions that none of the existing competitors have. First is our AI Center. At the AI Center, art consultants recommend various works of art to consumers based on their expert opinion. ARTIC uses artificial intelligence to analyze consumers’ tastes in art. It automatically curates and classifies the art by pattern, price, and size.
The second is the D-Book solution. D-BOOK is a smart digital publishing solution for brand managers concerned with effective digital marketing, content creators burdened with website production, and companies that want to advertise effectively. With D-Book, users can see how effective their promotional activities are by analyzing real-time performance reports.

DC Admin (May): Can you tell us about your native token (ARTIC) and its utilities?
Ye Seul Park: ARTIC is an Ethereum-based utility token that can be used within the ARTIC ecosystem. ARTIC tokens can be purchased on the cryptocurrency exchanges where it has been listed or acquired as rewards for performing certain activities on the ARTIC platform. ARTIC tokens can be used to pay platform fees or for additional functions that can only be used by users who hold a certain number of ARTIC tokens. Consumers, writers, and advertisers contribute to increasing and maintaining the value of ARTIC tokens by utilizing the ARTIC platform and engaging in various economic activities within the platform.
DC Admin (May): The token has strong utilities as expected! Where is ARTIC trading?
Ye Seul Park: Currently on a top DEX, Uniswap, and two top-tier exchanges, MEXC and Bittrex Global!
DC Admin (May): That is great! Let’s switch things up with a personal question! What’s YOUR favorite feature on ARTIC?
Ye Seul Park: Meta Exhibition is my favorite part of ARTIC.
DC Admin (May): Can you tell us a little about it?
Ye Seul Park: I’d be happy to! Basically, ARTIC provides a virtual space where users can vividly experience 360° views of artwork from various perspectives, regardless of time or place. We have specially photographed distinctive, real spaces to develop the Meta Exhibition into a unique metaverse. This means that artists who have not been able to hold individual exhibitions in the existing art ecosystem will now be able to introduce their artwork directly to the public through ARTIC’s 360° panoramic Meta Exhibition. Additionally, the 360° panoramic Meta Exhibition will allow the public to enjoy realistic exhibitions free of charge.
DC Admin (May): This is a beautiful feature! I am visualizing it already!
Please give us a summary of your Q1 and Q2 2022 highlights and what major news we can look forward to from the ARTIC Foundation in Q3 of 2022?
Ye Seul Park: In Q1 and Q2 our team was mostly focused on the development of the ARTIC Foundation Marketplace and AI features. The technical development is ongoing at a promising pace and according to our technical roadmap, we will be able to launch ARTIC on schedule. Also, the ARTIC token was recently listed on two top exchanges, MEXC and Bittrex Global. For the upcoming Q3, we have prepared some exciting announcements which I cannot disclose yet.

Part 2: Twitter Questions
DC Admin (May): If I want to participate in the Meta Exhibition, what are the conditions that must be met? Is there a KYC requirement on ARTIC? What about the financing system? Is there an upfront payment or is a fee charged for each piece sold? [from Twitter Username: @Lavana2016]
Ye Seul Park: No KYC is required! ARTIC provides a virtual space where users can vividly experience 360° views of artwork from various perspectives, regardless of time or place. Any user or artist can access the Meta Exhibition without completing any KYC processes.
DC Admin (May): Speaking of NFTs at the ARTIC Foundation, can you explain more about the utility of NFTs on your platform? Are they meant to be kept as simple collectibles or will they have any added benefits? Will you set up your own marketplace where users can buy and sell NFTs from the ARTIC Foundation? Ye Seul Park: To start with, artists can create NFTs and store them in their personal wallets with the ARTIC Foundation. NFT owners can then trade their NFTs at the Marketplace. If necessary, users can create their own works of art as NFTs and register them on the NFT Marketplace as well. Alternatively, they can request artists make a work of art for them specifically. NFT technology is applied to the works of art produced at this time so that value and ownership can be protected. NFTs can be traded directly from users’ personal wallets using smart contracts, which means that they do not need a separate contract to trade works of art.
Users can search for works of art by categories such as theme, color, shape, size, and purchase price. Artists can increase their brand value and create additional income through exhibitions on large digital screens, collaboration with art consultant companies, and sales of their copyrights.
DC Admin (May): ARTIC is an NFT asset-based art gallery platform that uses blockchain technology. I’ve read that in the case of digital art, illegal transactions continue to be a problem. So I just want to know how do you plan on solving such issues? [from Twitter Username: @Wormz29]
Ye Seul Park: Indeed illegal transactions have been a major issue in the art industry. However, the introduction of NFTs and blockchain technology has led to transparency that can solve the problem of illegal art transactions. At the ARTIC Foundation, we are striving to fully eliminate the illegal transactions of any art pieces by integrating blockchain transparency features.
DC Admin (May): I learned that the ARTIC Team plans to use blockchain technology to solve problems such as copyright infringement, counterfeiting, and provenance. Please explain what solutions ARTIC will present to address those challenges? [from Twitter Username: @Wormz29]
Ye Seul Park: Up to this moment, physical art has been clearly managed by galleries or dealers, who could reward artists after sales. On the other hand, digital works of art have unclear ownership, properties, and provenance, making it difficult for artists to receive compensation in the market. Our team plans to utilize blockchain technology to solve problems such as copyright infringement, counterfeit issues, and provenance, which are chronic issues that hinder the growth of the art market.
ARTIC presents three primary solutions to address the aforementioned challenges:
- Consumers should be able to produce or request art pieces and purchase them without the involvement of brokers in the process.
- Any artist should be able to display his or her work in a virtual space regardless of time and place constraints. They should also be able to sell the ownership of their artwork, which is protected as an NFT.
- Art consultants should be able to connect consumers and artists and receive rewards for their activities.
DC Admin (May): Yes! We support this! Many projects die because they are not understood by people. Is community feedback considered when creating and developing the project? Has the feedback been positive or negative to date? [from Twitter Username: @Saddi199998]
Ye Seul Park: Thank you for your kind question! The ARTIC Foundation was born as a solution for people in the art industry. As our team consists of highly experienced IT developers, art consultants, designers, and other professionals with an average of more than 20 years of experience in their own fields we know the industry inside-out and all the pain points that should be addressed. However, there is always a need to make changes and listen to our users’ feedback. That is why we will organize feedback sessions with our community members once we launch the finalized Meta Exhibition with the marketplace. Shiva: Why did you build your platform on the Ethereum Chain? What benefits does it possess over other popular chains? Can you list its main benefits over other public chains?
Ye Seul Park: Hi Shiva! Choosing the most suitable mainnet was one of the most important steps for our development. We decided to launch our project on Ethereum because Ethereum is considered to be the most secure mainnet. We have witnessed how mainnets that are more centralized experience DoS attacks and fail to protect security. So we decided to prioritize our users’ security first and chose the Ethereum Chain.
Anastasia Vector: How can artists enjoy benefits and various opportunities on the ARTIC Platform? What can new users do?
Ye Seul Park: Artists can create NFT items and exhibit them to their target group utilizing our Meta Exhibition. We allow artists and IP holders to maximize their reach to their user-base through our platform when they use all of our customization features, such as the Meta Exhibition, D-Book, and NFT Marketplace.
CloudJumper: Hello, can photographers make use of the ARTIC ecosystem? I see that there are provisions for artists and creators alike.
Ye Seul Park: For sure! Art is what people give value to. For our team, art can be more than traditional paintings, it can include photographs too! The only thing is the photographers have to turn their photos into NFTs first.️
Nim A’dool: Do you have any training programs on ARTIC to help artists or digital creators more easily use your platform?
Ye Seul Park: We are working on the incubation feature of the ARTIC Foundation. ARTIC’s incubation will be a newly added feature to the platform and will work with top artists around the world. Also, we are working on an algorithm through which the most visited and viewed exhibition will be added to a whitelist and will get some kind of help from our team in terms of marketing or advice.
Atharv: I want to know more about the AI Center. Why has it been made?Please tell me how it will help artists?
Ye Seul Park: ARTIC uses artificial intelligence to analyze consumers’ art tastes and automatically curates and classifies the art by pattern, price, and size. Consumers can create their own works of art using ARTIC’s AI Paint Tool and share them on SNS. Alternatively, they can ask experts to create those works of art for them. In addition, consumers can display various works of art in a digital space to determine in advance whether the art matches the space well. Artists can directly sell their artwork at the request of consumers. In addition, through art consultants, artists can receive the necessary professional support to host exhibitions or request that the art consultants sell their artwork on their behalf.
Tommy: The art industry is really growing in recent times. Do you think that we will see constant growth in the art industry in the coming years?
Ye Seul Park: Yes! Simply looking at the statistics we can see that the online art market has been recognized as an important channel that allows many artists and specialized workers to connect and meet new art collectors. In 2017, 53% of online art buyers were totally new collectors that had never directly participated in purchasing artwork online, and 41% of them were buyers who had never been to an offline auction house.
