We are on our phones for hours a day, which can be argued as a good or bad thing. With using our phones so much people are realizing the beauty of their most prized devices. Because of this, thin cases are becoming a commonality so you can still show off the aesthetics of these meticulously crafted devices. I have had the ability to try a few of these cases on the market, but a new company has been added to the mix.

The PaperCase by CrayCases is not a new idea and the actual design feels pretty common at this point. We tested the model for the iPhone 6s Plus in rose gold. It’s made of a plastic semi-transparent material. The ports are cut and aligned almost flawlessly. The matte texture adds a slight bit of grip but nothing like a silicone case does. The case fits the iPhone perfectly, it hugs the corners without any wiggle or shift. The PaperCase gives the user a little more ease of mind for scratches and bumps all while feeling almost identical to holding a bare phone. One of the great features of the PaperCase is the slight raise around the phone’s camera hump. It closely matches the hump so it raises it just enough off of a surface to protect it and keeps the camera ring surrounding the lens looking new. Also, don’t worry about using large or third party headphones and charging cables because all will work without a hassle.

I have reviewed a few of these cases but I wanted a bit of a different perspective so I requested my wife to use the PaperCase for a few weeks and tell me what she thought. These are her feelings, thoughts, and experiences:

  • Looks great, I like the color. It looks a little darker than Apple’s stock rose gold, but it adds the flexibility to change the color of the phone without having to get a bulky case.
  • The iPhone is a very slippery phone to begin with, I usually use a silicone case to help with this. The PaperCase added some additional grip, but not enough to prevent me from dropping it here and there. It added some protection where my bare phone would have been very scratched.
  • The slim profile makes it easy for me to fit in wallets, purses, and back pockets.
  • It was really easy to get the PaperCase on, but it was a bit of a nuisance to get it off.
  • Over the last few weeks it protected my phone, but shows noticeable scratches where my keys may or may not have beaten it up.
  • Overall I liked it, but would prefer a little more grip to help it stay in my hands better.

This is the first slim case that she has tested, but this was not mine, and we came to pretty much the same conclusion. It’s slim, pretty, feels nice, but we would both love a little more additional grip. But this is the story for most of these cases. Not only do they warrant the same reaction from most people but they seem like they come from the exact same vendor. This case was pretty, yes, it was thin and functional, absolutely. I liked it and would use it daily, sure, but it looked identical to the last few I have tested. I don’t know if this is because people are copying each other or they are just using the same vendor but they are indistinguishable from one another. I don’t mind something looking similar to another product but exactly the same is confusing. How do you know which is better to buy?

If you have never tried another slim iPhone case then you don’t have to worry. The PaperCase by CrayCases is great. An amazing combination of quality, style, and functionality. The price is super affordable too so you can pick up a few colors to match your wardrobe. So if you want a thin case for your iPhone check out the PaperCase. You (or your wife) will love it.
