Chainwhiz awarded a grant from EPNS to integrate Push Notifications and enable seamless communication for users
EPNS is building the very basis of the Web3 communication layer. Using EPNS, any dapp can send notifications to its subscribers through its notification channel.
Ethereum Push Notification Service (EPNS) is a blockchain protocol that enables services to communicate with their users (wallet addresses) in a decentralized way. The Defi aspect of the protocol ensures the notifications are incentivized i.e. users will also be receiving token incentives from the notifications.
Furthermore, The decentralized nature of the protocol enables delivery to any centralized or decentralized platforms which paves the way for communication to occur across any platform whether it’s a mobile app, user crypto wallets, web browsers, or any other platform that chooses to integrate the protocol.
On a platform like Chainwhiz which serves as a medium between contributors/communities and DAOs/Protocols, notifications are super crucial for all the users. Getting notified at the right moments is among the very top requested features from all sets of users on Chainwhiz — Bounty posters or the Protocols, Contributors, and the Voters. Thanks, to the power of EPNS, building out a notification channel is now SUPER EASY!
Here’s a detailed breakdown of Chainwhiz’s plan of action —
- Chainwhiz will be hosting a Hackathon on the platform itself. The hackathon will contain 6 bounties and will run for 2 weeks(tentatively). The objective behind the hackathon is to open up the stage for community participation and build the notification service using the Showrunner framework for Chainwhiz.

Bounty #3: Implement the logic for Notifications during the voting phase
Bounty #4: Implement the logic for Notification for Bounty Winner Announcements
Bounty #5: Build the Opt-In feature to showcase on the Landing page
Bounty #6: Write a Twitter Thread about EPNS Notifications on Chainwhiz

2. Web3 is all about collaborating and helping the next Protocol upscale. Keeping this vision intact, we will be organizing a workshop to explain and illustrate how one can integrate EPNS into their dapps as well.
Chainwhiz started out as an EthGlobal HackFS project where it received its first validation by winning the fleak bounty. Since then, we have rolled out our platform to all sets of users, received grants from Polygon, NEAR, and Filecoin, and collaborated with emerging Web3 Protocols like Dev Protocol, Web3Bridge, MemeDAO, etc.
