When you are considering using a visual work service, it is important to know what will work best for your event. Here is a brief introduction of the three visual work services our clients often request.

Graphic recording

Graphic recording is the act of capturing (drawing and writing) live content such as keynote presentations in an annual corporate strategy conference, or sometimes a conversation in a panel discussion or brainstorming workshop, on a large surface. Professional graphic recorders are not only artistic and creative but also are excellent listener and information synthesizer. The work can be planned beforehand, after learning about the event’s topic and agenda, but it is performed at the event. The output is beautiful though not always a polished illustration. It enhances participants’ experience; the accessibility and impressive size of the physical images leads to engagement and discussion.

Studio work

By contrast, we have studio work. If these are what you want: visuals with texts that are planned, a lot of control over the drafts, working alongside designers, sending feedback and revising, neat and polished visuals, then studio work is the right service for you. Studio work is executed by designing and producing visual work that is not in real-time (not live). Examples of studio work are images of workshop summary, infographics, presentation slides for a keynote speaker, or visuals for an event launch. The editing part or polishing the graphic recording work is also considered studio work.

Visual facilitation

Visual facilitation is to use visual media such as templates or a live-graphic recording to facilitate group or individual activity and learning. It needs planning and collaboration with a workshop facilitator. Visual facilitation is also in the toolbox of learning experience designers. I will explain about this later in the Learning experience design section.

Whether you are looking for graphic recording or studio work, or visual facilitation, or even mixing them together, we are here to help! Please contact us if you need more information.
