Mid-March Morn’

ode to my happy, weedy garden

Our hyacinths peek up,
lavender fingers waving,
braving wind-whipped mornings,
and tornado-warning noons.

Tulips jubilant crowns,
jostling with want and dew.
Echoes of winter’s solace,
drip with gutter pings-pangs.

Acorns knock to and fro.
Floral-escent colors burst.
Our overgrown city garden,
awaits April renewal.
