When I left you last week, it was raining hard at Lake Como, where we have been pet-sitting for about nine days. The rain continued into Saturday and even Sunday morning, when the clouds finally lifted and we saw some blue skies.

We knew the market was supposed to be on Saturday, but with the bad weather, we figured it wouldn’t be that busy. Boy were we surprised to still find people set up when we took Olive out for her morning walk.

On Sunday, with the skies parting and starting to look nicer, we decided to walk down to the lakefront. We had been down there already but had not done much exploring around because of the weather. We had heard there was a funicular that ran up the mountain, and we wanted to find the location of it so we could plan to take it the following day.

After finding it and on the way back to our apartment, we stumbled upon the Como Duomo. It was a spectacular sight!
