“Hello.” (Adele, 2015)

Christoph’s story began in a sleepy town somewhere in the north of Germany, where he fell in love with the weird and wonderful world of pop music.

At 19, he fled to the vibrant city of Berlin to pursue a bachelor’s degree in English and biology, which he followed up with a master’s degree in education.

A year spent in Birmingham allowed Christoph to dive into England’s oustanding music scene. It was there that he started writing about pop music for the local university newspaper, on a quest to capture the magic of chorus lines, metaphors, hairflips, and wind machines.

He is a firm believer in catchy songs with substance and always focuses on the lyrics of a song first before analysing the rest of it. Indeed, he likes to think that he can only enjoy a song with an intriguing topic and well-written lines, but then he finds himself listening to Meghan Trainor’s „Me Too“ on repeat.

In addition to writing about music, Christoph is also writing lyrics for other artists, guided by the belief that every single one of us has an interesting story to tell. It’s precisely that belief that made him join the Art Magazine team.

“Bye Bye Bye.” (NSYNC, 2000)

Let the music speak:

He’s a pop kid.

Music gets the best of him.

He’s 25 but he’s feelin’ 22.

On good days he’s charming as f***k.

He ain’t pageant material.

No sir, he can’t boogie.

Yes, he does believe in life after love.

When it’s over, he’s going straight to heaven in a Range Rover.
