Hefted through the expanding window, glass littering the sill, the little dark garden, emptied of plants for the year, the salivation of insects marching through the arc of the world, a growing latency, the privation of the coloured lights, leaving the room glaring or broken, candle lovers mourn in the day, smoke writes invisible messages then, the collapse of recognition upon meeting someone you haven’t seen in years, the standing up…
