How Many Medium Publications Should I Join?

Medium literally has hundreds of publications that you are free to join. If you are new to Medium or you are considering joining Medium, you may have already recognized that many of the stories that you read are actually being published by publications that are hosted on Medium. If you are already a long standing Medium writer you may be swimming in publication affiliations and wondering if it’s time for you to get a handle on the situation.
WHAT ARE MEDIUM PUBLICATIONS FOR?
Publications allow you to put your niche writing into places and spaces where it will be found by people looking for a particluar kind of content. Most adults have varied interests. Yes some people only write about this or that, but most people are a little more well rounded and have a well rounded range of content that they want to share. Publications allow authors to put their niche or their diverse array into appropriate boxes that will be well recieved and hopefully already have an audience of eager readers. Horror over here. Self-help over there. Comedy up here and Poetry this way. By allowing for these publications, Medium has allowed writers to have the freedom to truly be themselves as people and writers. You don’t…
