I can honestly say that before reviewing this album, I’d heard of Taylor Swift, but I had never listened to her music.

Taylor Swift’s current album, “Midnights,” has elicited conflicting reactions from both her fans and reviewers. While some regard it as a pure nostalgic voyage through her career and personal life, with innovative production, others have described it as a fast cash grab, without the heart and honesty that made her previous work so striking.

One critic commended the album for its superb poetry and use of Swift’s lower range, while another called it her worst album ever, claiming that she has stopped producing songs for herself and has gotten disconnected from her love of music. Another critic was dissatisfied with the album, claiming that the only song worth listening to is “Lavender Haze.”

Despite the conflicting reviews, Swift’s followers remain devoted and enthusiastic. “Midnight going to number 1 on the charts is definitely a boost to her career. While we here at Review Vlog certainly have an appreciation for her musical abilities and relationship with her followers, we can honestly say that the album didn’t personally move me or have anything about it that was deep. Those who appreciate sincerity and emotional depth in music, may be disappointed. The decision is ultimately up to each listener to judge whether or not this album is worth their time and attention. As for all of us here at Review Vlog we say, give it a listen, it might be just what you need in your music repertoire right now. It’s not terrible music, and while it wasn’t calling some listeners back, it undeniably was just what a lot of people needed. There is some very clever writing on the tracks and her voice certainly doesn’t fail, ever.
