Imagining Art’s Future Through the Microsoft HoloLens

Artsy partnered with Microsoft to create an immersive mixed reality experience with Microsoft’s HoloLens, the world’s first self-contained holographic computer. Collaborating with Artsy on the project, Studio Drift, an Amsterdam-based art collective, created a new digital environment at the intersection of art, technology, and design.

Their work involved real and digital concrete pillars, allowing viewers to navigate through physical and technological space simultanously. Viewers were also able to explore further applications of mixed reality in the art world through a digital catalogue of artworks projected on the walls. Learn more about the project here:
