Arup’s User-Centred Design Capabilities
We specialise in the design of data-driven web solutions tailored for both the public and private sectors across all dimensions of the built environment.
We’re a multi-disciplinary team that combines our in-house user-centred design team and the skills of our software engineers with Arup’s renowned engineering expertise to deliver innovative digital products in an agile environment.
We put users at the centre of all of our design processes, from initial needs gathering to designing interfaces. This, combined with our knowledge of software engineering, enables us to create bespoke tools for our clients.
User Research and User Interview
We conduct thorough stakeholder and user research to get a deep understanding of user needs and business goals. We are flexible, iterative and responsive to findings, and use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn insights from user research into outcomes.
We are practised in remote user engagement and comfortable in conducting online interviews, surveys and collaborative workshops. We also are experienced in recruiting users for research, consulting with clients to agree on the profile for potential user research participants before inviting individuals to participate.
User Experience (UX)
Our user research informs the design of services that are easy to use and solve a whole problem for users. Communicating and testing through prototypes, we move quickly and iterate.
Through ethnographic research, user workshops, information architecture, prototyping and user testing we gather a deep understanding of business and user needs that enable us to produce digital solutions that are impactful and integrate seamlessly with our clients’ environments.
User Interface (UI)
We design responsive applications for the web that are visually appealing and provide a consistent experience for end-users based around our clients’ needs.
