As Goes The South
ALL IN — Friends of As Goes The South
our film is fueled by civic energy
As Goes The South is funded by individuals and institutions who believe that Birmingham and the broader South deserve a better story.
Our national narrative may have been born in black and white, but Birmingham has evolved into a full color mosaic of civic energy, culture, and opportunity.
For the past three months, our team has hosted “friendraising” conversations with civic, community, and business leaders throughout the Birmingham area.
These friendraising events were hosted by pairs of civic leaders who generously invited us — including Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin — and their friends into their living rooms for the opportunity to recruit donors for the film.
So far, our friendraisers have raised more than $50,000 toward our individual fundraising goal of $100,000.
Special thanks to our friendraising hosts!:
- Brian Hamilton & Del Davis
- Rosilyn & Ron Houston
- Damian Gilbert & Abra Barnes
- Dale Thornton & Kenny Jo-Finn
- Val Thomas & Mary Yancey
- Denzel Okinedo, Leah Davis, David Russell, Julian Grant, Ryan Jackson, and Raymond James
These individuals and their friends that contributed $1,000 or more will receive acknowledgment in the film credits. Expect to learn more about our major donors in the weeks ahead. It’s not too late for you to become a donor!
In the meantime, reach us at contribute@asgoesthesouthfilm.com with questions about the project. Your contributions will support our marketing efforts and ensure as many people as possible will see the film in 2025 and beyond.
Honestly,
Ed.
