Words cannot really describe how much I love Alan Partridge. Portrayed by Steve Coogan, and created by both Steve Coogan and Armando Iannucci, Partridge is satire on both BBC television presenters and working class Britain. He’s been a staple in the British comedy world for nearly 30 years, and his incredible versatility — and constant relevance — keeps bringing him back.
2019 saw Partridge’s triumphant return to television with This Time with Alan Partridge, a 6-episode series with plenty of high notes and hilarity.
Partridge saw his TV debut as part of The Day Today, a satirical news programme created by Chris Morris and Iannucci. I haven’t seen too much of this, but I have seen plenty of wonderful Alan Partridge clips.
