Columbo episode review — 2.2 — The Greenhouse Jungle

Original air date: October 15, 1972
Director: Boris Sagal
Writer: Jonathan Latimer

Rating: 7/10

When the best part of the episode is just a small moment where Columbo falls down a hill, that’s not really a good sign.

The plot is reminiscent of “Ransom for a Dead Man,” the murderer really isn’t all that smart. And the legendary Ray Milland is surprisingly dull in his role.

The strength of the episode comes completely from Columbo. Giving him somewhat of a sidekick in Sergeant Wilson (Bob Dishy) is an alright idea to shake things up a bit.

It feels especially necessary given that this plot is fairly lame.
