Masters of Horror episode review — 2.10 — We All Scream for Ice Cream

Original air date: January 12, 2007
Director: Tom Holland
Writer: David J. Schow (short story by John Farris)

Rating: 3/10

This show feels liek it’s really gone downhill. Sure, it was never a fantastic show to begin with, but these last few episodes have been rough.

This episode is no exception to that, but it at least they got a significant horror director in Tom Holland (Child’s Play, Fright Night) and not some guy I’ve never heard of.

The story features plenty of flashbacks, as we follow a group of childhood friends being haunted by an ice cream man/clown, who they killed back in the ’50s.

The episode has an interesting dark tone, but somehow feels like it doesn’t do a whole lot with the premise. It’s maybe my least favorite episode so far, but I’m not exactly sure why.
