Monk episode review — 8.13 — Mr. Monk Is the Best Man

Monk spoils Stottlemeyer’s engagement surprise through his powers of deduction, and that’s how things started. Stottlemeyer may have only met T.K. (Virginia Madsen) a few episodes ago, but they’re set to be married.

With Monk of course as the best man, in charge of not losing the ring (he never lets it out of his hand), and setting up the bachelor party (which consists of a full twelve pack of beer and the film Bachelor Party, and not much else).

It is mildly amusing to see Monk in this role, of course, but that’s kind of all this episode has to offer. This has been a fine final season up to this point, but this is probably the weakest episode of the season for a number of reasons, one of which being the mystery plot isn’t very interesting, and it is rather predictable.
