This is a moody and well acted Stephen King adaptation. It’s not the most entertaining movie, but it is well done.
Thomas Jane is flat-out great as Wilfred James, a Nebraska farmer who conspires to kill his wife.
It’s a remarkably chilling performance, and so much of the movie relies on it. It’s a very slow movie, so miscasting here could cost the movie all the momentum it builds.
It’s difficult to describe exactly what happens, and I don’t want to spoil anything because it is good, and worth seeing.
