Movie Review: 2025: The World Enslaved by a Virus (2021)

--

In so many ways, this movie was what I expected it to be. I was hoping it would be a kind of throwback to films like 2020 Texas Gladiators, if a bit on the reactionary side, but honestly, it’s just alt-right Christiansploitation. It’s not quite as dumb or offensive as it probably could be, but it’s definitely a film up its own ass.

The movie has a title that feels like it’s been run through Google translate at least a couple times, the production value of something like Verotika, and the acting that might not even qual it. It’s bad. It’s very bad.

If you’re really into bad movies, this one has a few things to offer, but not too much. The acting is bad, but never really comically so. It’s more the writing, which in a movie like this only takes you so far.

This movie became a meme recently, and it’s easy to see why, particularly with the co-director, star, and co-writer being a major creep which has led to some very humorous fake IMDB trivia facts. Honestly those are more entertaining than the movie.

Rating: 1/10
