Movie Review: 3 Days to Kill (2014)

If this was just a straightforward action movie, it might be okay. Or good trashy fun, at worst.

Or at least it might have been with virtually any actor other than Kevin Costner. He’s so bland and dull. He’s very clearly trying to take a page from Liam Neeson’s playbook and become an older action star, but just doesn’t have the personality for it (to be fair, I’m not sure Neeson does either).

Amber Heard’s okay, though. She’s usually fun to watch in movies like this.

And yet the movie has plenty of ill-advised attempts at comedy. I guess this is the McG touch. Very few directors have I come to hate more than this guy. He just sucks, and his film has absolutely zero personality for about 90% of it, and in the scenes where they try and inject comedy, it just has a bad personality.

It’s really not any good.
