Movie Review: Abominable (2006)

Abominable is a movie that knows exactly what it is. It’s sort of a throwback to the dumb direct-to-video movies of the ’80s and ’90s, and it’s got Bigfoot.

There really isn’t too much more to say.

It’s adequate in most things it does. It’s winking at the camera, but never an all-out farce (which I truly appreciate). This feels like the tone that they would have had in a movie from the early ’90s, not that it is itself a parody or an homage to those kinds of films.

There are some fun horror scenes and a couple of great kills. And there are some fun little cameos from horror stars like Jeffrey Combs and Lance Henriksen, who are given more to do than I’d have expected.

Rating: 6/10
