Movie Review: Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)

This movie is sort of an entertaining mess. Some of the action — specifically the car chase towards the end — is very well done.

The biggest problem is there are two separate antagonists, and one of them shouldn’t even really be an antagonist. Ava Starr/Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) is just trying to save her own life. Am I supposed to believe that Scott’s and Hope’s plan is more noble than hers?

There’s a line towards the end about how maybe Michelle Pfeiffer could save her, but there are several lines earlier that establish that she has very little time. Of course, Michelle Pfeiffer ends up curing her through magic, but nobody knew she could do that, so I can’t say I blame Ghost. The movie did a poor job of establishing her as an antagonist.

Rating: 5/10
