Movie Review: Are We Not Cats (2016)

I was over halfway through this movie when I realized it’s called Are We Not Cats, not We Are Not Cats. Either way, I’m not a fan of the title.

But the movie’s a different story. It’s that kind of classic 2010s independent horror film that’s slow, offbeat, but pretty compelling — and occasionally quite disturbing.

It’s also quite beautiful to look at, with stylish colors and great cinematography.

But it’s almost indie to a fault, if you catch my drift. It’s just not as entertaining as I wanted it to be, and the slow pacing gets tiring.
