Movie Review: Battle Beyond the Stars (1980)

As far as Star Wars ripoffs go, this one’s okay. It’s a Roger Corman movie, so you know it’s going to be efficient. And with special effects by James Cameron, as well as some revealing costumes for Sybil Danning, it actually looks pretty good.

This movie also has a pretty good supporting cast that includes Robert Vaughn, Danning, George Peppard, and particularly John Saxon, who somehow manages to elevate any trashy movie he’s in.

The movie certainly isn’t anything special, but it’s far from a waste of time, as well.
