Movie Review: Crossfire (1947)

Film noir certainly has its appeals. The dark cinematography, the way people talk in these movies…it’s great. Unless it isn’t.

Crossfire may be the dullest film noir I’ve ever seen. It’s so talky, to the point of being genuinely hard to follow.

The first ten or fifteen minutes of this movie were so offputting. It’s just a bunch of people talking, and dropping a bunch of names. It was almost funny in a way. But it’s exhausting.

The movie eventually has a socially conscious message, but like so many other things within the movie, it just doesn’t pull it off well.

Rating: 4/10
