Movie Review: Fairy Tales (1978)

This softcore fantasy musical comedy is not exactly what I was expecting, but it’s pretty fun nonetheless. The musical sequences are surprisingly fun, with Little Bo Peep’s (Angela Aames) standing out perhaps the most.

The music isn’t half bad, and the lyrics are surprisingly funny. The story follows a prince who won’t inherit the kingdom unless he can produce an heir. But he can’t get it up unless he’s with his dream princess, who is of course Linnea Quigly in her first proper role.

She doesn’t show up until the end of the movie, but she’s absolutely gorgeous, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look this young.

Turning these beloved fairy tales into sexy situations isn’t exactly a stroke of genius, but it’s occasionally effectively funny. So overall, the movie has more to offer than just softcore sex.
