Movie Review: Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

This is the first sequel to a good movie in the series, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect after Fast Five. Meaning it’s pretty good, with some really impressive action scenes and a very charismatic performance from the Rock. But, at least for me, it’s also a bit forgettable.

This series really does have the cast nailed down at this point. Sure, Vin Diesel still sucks, but with Dwayne Johnson set in place as our other resident buff bald guy of ambiguous ethnicity, his acting shortcomings are less noticeable.

And this seris continues to introduce some great kickass women action heroes. We’ve already had Michelle Rodriguez, and last movie we saw Gal Gadot. Here, Gina Carano is the welcome addition. She may have been better utilized in Haywire, but she’s still pretty good here. Oh, and we also see the return of Michelle Rodriguez.

It may not make much sense, but whatever. These movies aren’t about the plots.

They’re about having as much dumb excessive action as you can have in one movie, and it’s rare you see this much quality action in one movie.

Rating: 6/10
