Movie Review: Final Destination 3 (2006)
While most of the characters in this movie suck, at least Mary Elizabeth Winstead lends Wendy Christensen some life.
This movie cuts the bullshit and gives you what you want to see. The roller coaster wreck at the beginning is amazing, even if the effects are heavily dated.
And what follows is largely entertaining, even if it’s incredibly stupid.
Tony Todd doesn’t appear on camera, but he’s very obviously the voice outside the roller coaster warning people about how scary it is, or whatever. I guess it’s a good way to utilize him. He does have an amazing voice.
This movie doesn’t quite have the Rube Goldberg machine-type deaths of the previous entries in the series. Instead of having a massive chain of reaction, instead a lot of crazy things happen, and you are left to imagine how it’s all going to work out. It may sound rather similar, but I found it to be a bit of a different and welcoming viewing experience.
