Movie Review: Final Examination (2003)

This movie was like traveling in a time machine to the late ’80s or early ’90s when Fred Olen Ray was making this kind of entertaining, shitty schlock. This came out in 2003, and unlike so many 21st century low budget horror films I’ve reviewed here, it doesn’t look awful. It looks like maybe a show that might have been on like USA Network or something.

And it’s just terrible, but it’s really enjoyable in a way. There’s a woman with a piece of cardboard that says “press” on it, on her. There are like kind of attractive but also sort of over the hill women that the dialogue treats as like 25-year-old smokeshows. It’s kind of funny.

There’s even a half-decent car chase towards the end of the movie, which really ups the production value. It’s fairly well executed, but the rest of the movie really isn’t, but that’s kind of what makes it fun. It’s enjoyable trash.

Rating: 3/10
