Movie Review: Fired Up! (2009)

I really don’t get the point of PG-13 sex comedies. The cast isn’t the problem here. I actually think Nicholas D’Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen have pretty decent chemistry. And Sarah Roemer as the female lead is enjoyable.

It’s just not very funny. The script doesn’t have any real wit to it. It’s a story about two football players that want to avoid summer practice by joining a cheer camp, thinking they’ll get their pick of women because they’ll be the only guys there. And there is your typical rivalry that you’d expect with other schools, and with some of the women. It’s all pretty standard, and not very funny.

The biggest bright spot is probably John Michael Higgins as one of the judges. He’s just always a delight.
