Movie Review: Fraternity Vacation (1985)

--

Fraternity Vacation is a pretty by the numbers sex comedy that would have been far more enjoyable with a better cast. There is Tim Robbins, of course, who’s great. And even Barbara Crampton makes a small but sexy and funny appearance.

But the movie ends up mostly being about Wendell Tvedt (Stephen Geoffreys, Fright Night) and his desire to have sex with a girl he likes. The movie seems like it’s more of an ensemble at the start, but it turns towards being about him, and I’m not cool with that.

There is a really funny moment when he’s all nervous about meeting his girlfriend’s father, and it turns out to be the chief of police who had arrested him for attempted rape previously. But that’s the only really big laugh here.

This movie could have been a lot better than it is, but there’s still a pretty low ceiling on this type of movie.

Rating: 3/10
