Movie Review: Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972)

Alright, so the plot is still really weird. That’s to be expected at this point, I suppose. And it’s slower than you want it to be, but when the monsters actually fight, it’s pretty good, albeit more than a little weird.

Gigan makes for a great villain, and his teaming with Ghidorah, the most powerful of Godzilla’s villains, is great to see.

Godzilla’s only joined by Anguirus, who’s always been a pretty lame monster. It’s nice to see Godzilla work with a weaker partner to take out two strong opponents, though.

There’s a lot of stock footage unfortunately, but I still think there’s enough new stuff to keep it entertaining. I mean, Godzilla bodyslamming Ghidorah from the necks is enough to make this movie worth watching.
