Movie Review: Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973)

Godzilla vs. Gigan is every bit as insane as you might expect, and it’s all the better for it. For what it’s worth, I think it’s one of the most enjoyable Godzilla movies, with Godzilla as a full-on superhero, aided by Jet Jaguar, who gets his own theme song.

Megalon is aided by Gigan, and the two make for some excellent villains, albeit it’s a step down from the Gigan-Ghidorah tag team from the previous movie.

The movie’s very silly, and as usual, there isn’t as much monster stuff as you’d like to see, but I actually find the scenes with the humans to be more entertaining than most movies in the series. And the fight at the end is wonderful.

It’s classic schlock.
