Movie Review: Hack-O-Lantern (1988)

Hack-O-Lantern has its moments, but the moments aren’t exactly good, in any traditional sense of the word. It’s a pretty embarrassing movie, actually.

There really isn’t too much to the plot. There’s a grandfather who’s part of a satanic cult that murders people on Halloween. His family knows about him, or at least some of the family does. It’s a bit confusing. I’m not sure how much is new information to these people.

It’s a very funny performance from Hy Pyke, though, as the grandfather. He’s doing his best to make this movie some fun trash. It’s just that the rest of the movie doesn’t reach the tone that he does.

Rating: 2/10
