Movie Review: Haunters: The Art of the Scare (2017)

Haunters is a documentary directed by Jon Schnitzer that tries to encapsulate everything possible about the haunted house attraction. The documentary starts with some basic history stuff, which was pretty interesting, and goes on to describe and discuss the controveries of the modern age’s most notorious haunts.

There is a ton of footage from the actual houses themselves, and I’m sure this is the closest I’ll ever get to going into some of them. Not just because so many of them seem to be in California, over 2,500 miles from me, but because some of this stuff is insane.

McKamey Manor is heavily featured, and that seems to come pretty close to actual torture.

This movie is sort of an insight into the minds of the people that run this industry, who approach it from so many different mindsets, as well as the people that choose to go through such a thing.

It’s pretty interesting, and it’s on Netflix right now, so if it sounds intriguing to you, check it out.
