Movie Review: Immortal Combat (1994)

Immortal Combat kind of has everything. Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sonny Chiba, ninjas, zombies, serial killers, conspiracies, crazy Bond-style villains. It’s hard not to appreciate for its uniqueness, even if it’s not really great quality.

The action is fun, but there isn’t quite enough of it. The ninja stuff is great but when it’s just Roddy Piper fighting people, it’s occasionally less than exciting.

But I think the biggest problem here is probably the amount of dialogue Sonny Chiba has. His very thick accent makes him hard to understand and when he’s providing the exposition, the movie becomes difficult to follow.

But any movie with zombie warriors fighting a ninja can’t be all bad, and this definitely isn’t. It’s a pretty fun b-movie.
