Movie Review: Monster Island (2004)

This movie may be awful, but it’s a difficult movie to be upset about. Made for MTV and featuring Carmen Electra as herself (back when she was trying to be a pop star and not just coasting off her sex symbol status), it’s sort of a parody of old giant monster movies of the 1950s and ’60s (think Bert I. Gordon).

But it is quite bad. In addition to featuring Electra, the movie also has Mary Elizabeth Winstead, playing a character who figures out that she’s like some earth goddess or something.

She may have been a nobody then, but it’s still clear that she’s far too good for the material.
